There are many industry leaders, even Google has it’s own thoughts on what will be big in 2025.

Social Commerce

Social commerce is a social media trend that has been on our radar for a long time. Both brands and platforms have been working hard to find the right way to convert social media networks into sales platforms.

Check out Sendible’s 2025 predictions for more info but in 2025 there are two main things related to social commerce that business should be aware of:

Shop when you like, where you like! Platforms like Instagram and TikTok are enhancing in-app shopping features, making it seamless for users to discover and purchase products without leaving the app. Live shopping is also increasing in popularity and becoming an interactive and immediate purchase for consumers.

AI

So, if you are not using AI at all, you need to get learning! AI is going to grow and grow. From content creation ideas to generating images and video, AI is learning and improving all the time.

The key to AI is the prompt. Learn how to write clear prompts and you have an invaluable assistant on your hands!

Social Listening

Many types of marketing have always been difficult to link directly back to how much of a return it brings for your investment. Social Media is one of those. However, those professionals using social listening, have more confidence now in being able to prove ROI, according to a survey by Hootsuite.

Real-time information provided by social listening enables brands to tap into trends that are sweeping the online world. And involve themselves, when appropriate so that they don’t miss out on any potential opportunities.

Rise of TikTok

According to eMarketer, adult TikTok users in the U.S. are projected to spend an average of 54 minutes per day on the platform in 2025, surpassing the 35 minutes spent by adult Instagram users.

TikTok is back online in the US after a short 14 hour hiatus in January.

Beyond its role as a social media platform, TikTok is evolving into a multi-functional tool—74% of Gen Z users now use it as a search engine, with 51% preferring it over Google.

In 2023, TikTok further solidified its position in social commerce. The platform launched TikTok Shop, in Ireland earlier this year and the race is on to get Irish businesses selling to the ready and waiting audience.
